Crispy Falafel Recipe 🥙

Crispy chickpea fritters with herbs and spices. A popular vegetarian Middle Eastern snack.

Ingredients
  

1 cup (200 g) dried chickpeas (soaked overnight)
1 onion (80 g), chopped
3 garlic cloves (9 g)
1/4 cup (15 g) parsley leaves
1 tsp (5 g) cumin powder
1 tsp (5 g) coriander powder
1/2 tsp (2 g) salt
Oil for frying

Equipment

  • Blender/food processor
  • Slotted spoon
  • pan

Method
 

Drain soaked chickpeas; blend with onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, and salt into coarse paste.
    Shape mixture into small balls.
      Heat oil in deep pan; fry falafels until golden brown.
        Drain on paper towel.
          Serve with hummus or pita bread.

            Notes

            Notes: Do not use canned chickpeas; they make mixture too soft.
            Storage: Refrigerate uncooked mixture up to 2 days.
