Ingredients
  

For Dough:
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
For Cheese Filling:
  • 150 g cheddar cheese cut into small cubes
  • For Baking Soda Bath:
  • 4 cups water
  • 3 tbsp baking soda
For Topping:
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp coarse salt

  • Baking tray

Method
 

  1. Activate Yeast: Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Rest 5 minutes.
  2. Make Dough: Add flour, salt, and melted butter. Knead for 5–6 minutes.
  3. Rest Dough: Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Shape Bites: Divide dough into small pieces. Place a cheese cube inside each piece and seal tightly.
  5. Prepare Baking Soda Bath: Boil water + baking soda.
  6. Dip Bites: Drop bites for 20–25 seconds and remove.
  7. Bake: Place on tray, brush butter, sprinkle salt, bake at 220°C for 12–15 minutes.
  8. Serve: Hot and melty! Perfect with mustard or cheese dip.
